First Monthly Meeting of 2009 a Success!
Thursday evening, February 26
(2009), at the Main Street
Library, Jason Mrochek, co-founder and executive director of the national
FIRE Coalition, spoke with
KFIRE volunteers at their first monthly meeting of 2009. A West Point
graduate, Jason spoke with clarity and conviction and was loathe to call
this an illegal immigration problem. "It's the largest invasion in world
history," he said and, using government border reports along with VISA
overstay info, estimated the illegal alien population over 40 million!
Jason co-founded the FIRE Coalition in 2004 after
returning from active duty to Southern California and finding the vast
negative changes brought to his home state by illegal aliens. Jason held
up his Bible and a copy of the Constitution to illustrate his foundational
documents.
For those of you who missed his presentation, you'll be
happy to know that Jason is here to stay. He recently moved his
family to Winchester from the "left" coast. He plans to attend our monthly
meetings as his schedule allows.
The nationwide organization he co-founded, which
includes KFIRE as of spring 2008, continues to grow. Unlike many national
organizations, the FIRE Coalition is a volunteer operation with members
who receive no salary. They pay their own way to Washington and have no 6
figure lobbyist salary to ease back on. They do what they do for love of
country and it is evident in their sincerity and passion.
We hope you'll join us next month, March 26th, from 6
to 7pm at a location to be announced. Check back to our
Schedule page regularly for details of
this and other events.
