False Accusations Cast From Pulpit to Discredit KFIRE
by Douglas Roy 10-19-10

The pulpit is a place reserved for the preaching of truth and the wonderful gospel of Jesus Christ, but this last Sunday, the 17th, at Southland Christian, "bitter" water (James 3:8-18) came forth from the mouth of Pastor Jon Weece as he berated members who had posted facebook opposition to the previous day's event that invited the Mexican Consulate to do business on church property.

But the bitter talk did not stop there. Weece went on to speak ill of the KFIRE representatives that spoke with Pastor Hahn the previous morning in the parking lot. The four observers were at bldg. F to see and record the proceedings of the Mexican consulate and the other booths set up for this event. They had not been in there more than 2 minutes without tumult or disorder before being accosted by a Latino security woman, a Southland worker, and the police for trespassing at this "public" event. The event was apparently open to all Latinos, but evidently not to all white Americans (see video 1 and video 2 and video 3). After being escorted out of bldg. F by security guards/Nicholasville police, and after a WTVQ 36 interview with Mr. Roy, Hahn spoke with the KFIRE members and associates.

That small group included a member of KY 912, along with KFIRE representatives, and other concerned citizens. They spoke with Pastor Hahn  about the violation of the Vienna Convention on Consular Affairs to allow consular affairs to be conducted on non-dedicated property (see Art. 1, j). They asked Pastor Hahn why he refused to meet with them the week before the event (see the conversation with Hahn 1:58min mark). His answer, "We're not interested in that..." They also noted how it was wrong and harmful to Americans to support the Mexican Government's issuing of Matricula cards to illegal aliens. Pastor Hahn disagreed with KFIRE's assessment, deferring to his conversations with Homeland Security, I.C.E., and the F.B.I. who assured him no law was being broken. Someone noted, "would Southland set up an abortion center on their property simply because it was legal?" The moral implications of aiding illegal aliens, along with actual law in Title 8, Section 1324, is sufficient reason to avoid implicating Southland in the support of illegal and immoral activities.

Hahn disagreed, but then asked the group, who just spent several minutes reprimanding his actions, to pray with him (5:20min mark). The group was not willing to pray a "phony prayer" with someone who was in complete disagreement with them and justifying his sin. Howbeit, Hahn evidently related a different story to Jon Weece, who repeated this untruth from the pulpit, purportedly spoken by a KFIRE member, "We don't pray with people who support Hispanic people." (note my attitude regarding Hispanics here) I suggest you listen to the conversation yourself and decide from the 5:20min mark on - conversation with Hahn. This was clearly an attempt to smear KFIRE as a racist group.

But the accusations didn't stop there. Weece then repeated another untruth passed on from Pastor Charles Knox of I.N.V. ministry. Knox is the man responsible for bringing the Mexican Consulate to Southland for the second year and to 6 other locations in the surrounding area during the past 8 years. Pastor Weece alleged "the founder of KFIRE attended a Hispanic event last year at a public park wearing an FBI jacket and had his German Shepherd with him" allegedly to intimidate Hispanics. A KFIRE member was at the park that day and saw the man who actually wore an I.C.E. agent cap and had a dog on a leash. She knew who the man was and He was not the founder or even a member of KFIRE. This second hand accusation from the pulpit seemed to bolster Southland leadership's position as it cast aspersions on "the founder of KFIRE" for hateful behavior and being a bad Christian. Douglas Roy, current president and one of the founders of KFIRE, who was at Southland on Saturday protesting, apparently was the intended target of the accusation. Roy was not present at the park that day in question.

I thought you should hear the other side of what really happened. One would hope that public apologies and corrections are made by these men of the cloth to attempt to undo the harm they have done to the reputations of the falsely accused.

And now, the rest of the story. After the WTVQ 36 news reporter left, KFIRE members and supporters left the property and went to the Harrodsburg Road, Hwy 68, entry to Southland. They were on the public utility easement with protest signs when two Nicholasville police cruisers and an unmarked security car drove up to them demanding that they remove themselves with their signs from the Southland property. These were the same rent-a-cops that escorted the group out of the building. The protesters were forced onto the shoulder of the busy highway and made to walk, being told they couldn't legally stand there.

They made there way to Brannon Road and then to the other Southland entry off that road. Again, the same two Nicholasville police officers came to ask them to leave the property. The group of three were already standing on the public street by the entry, but were told they must move to the other side of the road or face further consequences. Watch the video yourself and see what you think. These officers/security guards, by their own admission, were following orders from Southland. Christian love did not extend to Southland leadership's perceived enemies, that is clear.

Protest of the Mexican Consulate
10-16-10

This morning a small group of KFIRE supporters went to the largest church in central Kentucky, Southland Christian Church.  We were there to witness and protest the use of church property by the Mexican Consulate out of Indianapolis.  We entered the building peaceably, and were quietly taking video and pictures of the nearly 150 or 200 Latinos present, when, in only a minute or two, a police officer came up to us and began to question us as to our motivation for being there.

We have this much more video that we are posting as soon as it is processed.

We had spoken to both pastors (Hahn and Knox) involved with the day's "Latino Health Fair/Mexican Consulate" only 45 minutes prior to this in a very cordial manner. Those conversations were also recorded and will be posted soon. They were obviously upset that we were giving them bad publicity. They should have thought more about that as these two "security guards" continued to harass us near the entrance while Channel 36 News was videotaping the moment. None of that tape made it to the news or the internet. Mine will and has.

Pics from the event!
